After earning her degree at CU Boulder and her teaching license at Regis, Kristina never really left Jeffco — and she never wanted to. Now in her 14th year of teaching first grade in the same district that raised her, she pays it forward. Her advice to students? "You are capable of magical and wonderful things. Keep going." She even met her husband in German class at Green Mountain. Some roots just run deep. 

This year’s Graduation Capstone Showcase honored 34 exceptional students selected from more than 110 nominations across Jeffco Public Schools, celebrating the depth, creativity and real‑world impact of student‑driven learning.

Jeffco Public Schools received 46 performance awards from the Colorado Department of Education, leading the state in total honors for the 2024-25 school year.

Jeffco Public Schools was honored to welcome Congresswoman Pettersen for a series of school visits across the district, creating meaningful opportunities for students to engage directly with their local representative. 

This January, students at Devinny Elementary School participated in a Buddy Classroom project that brought them together to create cozy blankets for patients at Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Families of 8th-grade students are encouraged to attend upcoming information nights across the district to learn about the high school experience, explore programs, meet staff and more.

This past year, schools across Jeffco proudly partnered with Make-A-Wish Colorado to grant 36 life-changing wishes for children facing critical illnesses.

According to the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) and PSAT/SAT, Jeffco students' reading, math and science scores outperformed the state averages. All high school and most elementary school results demonstrate strong academic growth for Jeffco students, exceeding expected state growth for nearly all tests.
